WATCH D.O.G.S ® (Dads Of Great Students) is a nationally recognized family and community engagement educational initiative with two primary goals:
To provide positive male role models (fathers, grandfathers, uncles and other father figures) for students, demonstrating by their presence that education is important.
To provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying.
Since 1998, the Watch D.O.G.S ® program has had a tremendously positive impact on the educational process, providing fathers an opportunity to get a glimpse of their students’ daily life at school and gain a greater awareness of the positive impact they can have on academic performance, self-esteem and social behavior.
During the day, Watch D.O.G.S. may visit block classes (Art, Music, P.E.) with their student, play at recess, help in the cafeteria with lunch, watch the school entrances and hallways, patrol the campus perimeter, assist with traffic flow and any other assigned activities where they can have a positive influence.
If you would like to sign up to be a Watch D.O.G.S. volunteer, please review the calendar below for available dates and click here to complete our online registration form.
